Mountain Real Estate - On the Rise
Rick Strohm, Jr.

As we have always stated real estate in the Western North Carolina
mountains has not declined or seen the "crisis" of other real estate
markets around the country. We are an "oasis" and we live in the most
beautiful area of the country.
The housing market has slowed, but not stopped - and the housing
prices have remained steady, and in some instances even increased!
Plus, the mountain rental market
(cabins, etc) is booming - up 175% in the past 5 years! My
father/partner, Rick, and I specialize in Western North Carolina
mountain property and have lived in the area over a combined 20+
years. My mother is an enrolled Cherokee Indian and my 2nd great
grandfather was once Chief of the Cherokee Tribe - Nimrod Jarrett Smith. Needless to say, we have ancestary that have lived in the mountain of North Carolina for generations.
Look
at it this way...are you going to invest your money in the stock
market? Or would you rather invest in real estate - an appreciating
asset and one that you can put your finger on? My guess is that you'd
rather invest in real estate. The North Carolina mountains have held
their value and will continue to do so.
